Background: Our team has written a review of spinal involvement in a medical condition of interest. We are seeking a medical illustrator to create 1-2 figures for publication that summarize the various underlying mechanisms and spinal pathologies involved in this condition (fracture, infection, etc). The illustrator will be offered co-authorship on the manuscript.
Up front payment ($250)
To be paid at the time the contract is awarded to the freelancer.
Deliverable 1 (7-10 days, $300): Initial sketch/outline
We have already drafted the text of the publication, identified the conditions we would like illustrated, and found several example images to guide the freelancer. In this deliverable, the freelancer would:
1. Read relevant portions of our draft and review the request for the illustrations needed
2. Propose any modifications to our request
3. Generate a written description and/or a sketch outlining the proposed figure(s) they will create
Deliverable 2 (1-2 weeks, $600): First draft
Freelancer would generate the first draft of the figure(s).
Deliverable 3 (1-2 weeks, $250): Final draft
Freelancer will incorporate edits on the illustration. If no edits are suggested, this amount will be paid at the time of submission of the manuscript.
Deliverable 4 (after article acceptance, $200): final publication
If the article is accepted for publication, freelancer would need to be able to help respond to any Reviewer queries pertaining to their illustration, and make any edits requested by the Reviewers. This installment will be paid after final acceptance of the manuscript.
