Multus Medical is a medical software company providing cutting-edge, patented 3D demonstration renderings of MRI scans & patient-specific surgical animation videos.

We seek a Director of Medical Illustration capable of creating and reviewing medically-accurate storyboards for the animation workflow related to surgical procedures in designing and creating animations. This person will also ensure medical accuracy in the quality control phase of production.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review extensive medical documentation and operative reports, and create/review medically-accurate actionable storyboards for animators to execute
  • Perform quality control reviews on all completed animations and effectively communicatefeedback to animators for revisions
  • Work closely with the Director of Technology and Lead Animator to oversee the beginning and end of the production pipeline.
  • Conceptualize ideas for scenes, tools, backgrounds, and other animation elements
  • Conceptualize ideas for improvements to animations, balancing quality and detail with speed and deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with other animators and medical professionals to ensure consistency and accuracy on all projects
  • Attend virtual meetings with surgeons and attorneys to assess client needs and review delivered products
  • Train other members of the animation team on the storyboarding process to distribute work in order to meet deadlines

Skills Needed:

  • Impeccable attention to detail in reviewing and translating operative reports into
    actionable storyboards, and quality control of the medical accuracy of completed animations
  • Ability to juggle 5+ significant projects at a time
  • Timeliness, ability to meet highly tight and volatile deadlines, efficiency, and communication
  • Ability to make educated inferences for displaying injuries/procedures
  • Work in a team environment with minimal supervision and collaborate closely with the rest of the Animation team
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex medical procedures to 3D animators
  • Hungry, go-getter attitude with high value placed on hard work
  • Desire to constantly learn & optimize processes
  • Blender or similar 3D suite (Preferred 3+ years experience)

Work Experience:

● 5+ years experience interpreting medical documents, researching, and illustrating surgical procedures, preferably in a personal injury or defense medical-legal setting
● 3-4 years minimum 2D or 3D medical animation experience

Education:

● Master of Science in Medical Illustration (MS or MSMI) / Master of Art in Medical Illustration (MAMI
● Board Certified Medical Illustrator (BCMI)
